It has a 140 lb initial load and a 300 lb finish load. The softer start aims to prevent track trenching on takeoff, and the firmer finish aims to hold target RPM on long climbs without over-revving or fading. Made of high-tensile alloy spring steel meant to resist heat sag and rate loss under vibration, rapid compression cycles, and underhood heat. Calibrated for the horsepower curve, elevation, and track resistance of deep-snow RMK models; helps prevent belt slippage.
