Polaris Matryx Upgrade & Fitment Guide

Freshies Built stocks upgrades for every Polaris Matryx sled: RMK, Pro RMK, Khaos, Switchback, Indy VR1 and Assault, with the 850 Patriot, 850 Patriot Boost and Patriot 9R engines. This guide sorts our Matryx parts by what they do and calls out which engine and model each one fits, so you can build your sled in the right order. Not sure what fits yours? Send us your model year and model and we'll confirm before you order.

Step 1: Know which Matryx you have

Many Matryx parts are engine-specific. Before you order, check two things:

  • Engine: 850 Patriot (naturally aspirated), 850 Patriot Boost (factory turbo), or Patriot 9R. Exhaust, clutch kits, cylinder heads and tunes are listed separately for each.
  • Model and track length: RMK/Khaos (mountain) vs. Switchback, Indy VR1 or Assault (trail and crossover). Rear bumpers, seat covers, rail kits and shocks are listed by model and track length.

Clutching and stage kits

Stage kits pair clutch calibration with matching parts, so the sled stays tuned after you add power. If you're changing exhaust or adding power, start here.

Exhaust

Lightweight mufflers and silencers drop weight off the back of the sled. Choose by engine (850, Boost or 9R) and by sound level: quiet, trail or competition.

Shocks

We carry FOX ski and track shocks for Matryx and Axys, including the lightweight Burandt Edition and FOX iQS, plus ZBROZ center shocks. Check whether you need ski or track (skid) shocks, and which model.

Matryx upgrade FAQ

What should I upgrade first on a Polaris Matryx?

Most riders start with weight and control: a lightweight muffler or silencer, plus risers, a bar and a brake lever that fit you. If you add power or change exhaust, pair it with a matching clutch or stage kit so the sled stays tuned.

Do 850 parts fit a 9R?

Not always. Exhaust, cylinder heads and clutch kits are made separately for the 850 Patriot, 850 Patriot Boost and 9R, so we list each one separately. Some P-22 clutch parts, like SPEEDWERX Ripper weights, are listed for both 9R and Boost models.

Do Matryx parts fit an Axys?

Some do. Many shocks, A-arms and IceAge parts are listed for both "Matryx / Axys." If a listing only says Matryx or only says Axys, it's built for that chassis.

How do I confirm fitment before I order?

Check the model years, engine and model in the product title. If you're unsure, contact us with your model year, model and track length and we'll confirm.
